Founded
in 2009, Mentor Together is India’s first and largest national
youth mentoring non-profit organization. Headquartered in Bengaluru,
Karnataka, the organization works to break down systemic inequalities by
providing structured, high-quality, one-on-one mentoring relationships to young
people across the country.
The
Core Mission: Closing
the Opportunity Gap
The
core philosophy of Mentor Together is centered around a powerful premise: every
young person deserves equal opportunity to actualize their potential, build
their own future, and realize their dreams.
Through deep partnerships with over 150 educational institutions, state governments, and non-profits, Mentor Together targets youth primarily aged 18 to 22 during their crucial tertiary education years. A key focus of the organization is empowering young women, addressing the systemic challenge of falling female labour force participation rates by boosting career confidence and readiness.

Mentor To Go: Career
Mentorship in the Palm of Your Hand
To
make high-quality mentorship scalable and accessible anywhere in India, the
organization launched Mentor To Go, a mobile platform and
app available on Android. Supported by corporate leaders such as BT Group,
LinkedIn, and Amazon, the platform pairs university students with experienced
corporate professionals.
Through
structured weekly sessions, mentees gain real-world career knowledge, practice
workplace communication, set yearly goals, and build resilience without needing
to be in the same city as their mentor.

In-Person Adolescent Mentoring
Recognizing
that educational disengagement starts early, Mentor Together runs an intensive,
in-person program targeted at high school adolescents at risk of dropping out. Managed
by professional social workers and volunteer mentors, this initiative works on
building emotional and social skills, improving self-esteem, strengthening
family/peer relationships, and fostering future aspirations.
